Full Description

This porcelain vase is a large and fine example representative of England's renowned Worcester Royal Porcelain Co Ltd, in the period from the late nineteenth century through to the 1930s. During that time, handpainting was a speciality at Royal Worcester and some of the most popular subjects were Highland cattle, a Scottish breed of cattle with long horns and long wavy coats, depicted grazing and browsing in their native pastures. The scenes on the vase were hand painted by John Stinton Junior (1854-1956) . They are a superb example of Stinton's work, with naturalistic Highland cattle and mountain landscape scenes bringing to life a highly decorative late nineteenth century vase shape still popular today.
